Better data reception with an extended external antenna
(cable length: 3.4')

120 x 52 x 1.6 mm

Being 5 times faster than
the speed of 802.11b network standard devices, the innovative 802.11g standards
lets the wireless network become incredibly easier and faster (up to 54Mbps)
than ever. Your 802.11b/g Wireless LAN certainly will bring you into such a
high-speed networking sphere. The easiness of installation and configuration add
up more enjoyments while you are operating the network in either an independent
mode or an infrastructure mode. The former, which is also known as peer-to -peer
or ad-hoc network lets you directly make connection with other wireless-equipped
computers, and the later, the so-called infrastr5ucture network, allows you to
communicate with wired LAN via an access point.

Available network applications are as follows:
-
To Survey the network neighborhood
-
To Share Your Folder with Your Network Member(s)
-
To Share Your Printer with Your Network Member(s)
-
To Access the Shared Folder(s)/File(s) of Your Network
Members(s)
-
To Use the Shared Printer(s) of Your Network Member(s)
In fact, the network applications of the
IEEE802.11g PCI adapter are the same as they are in a wired network environment.
You may refer to the following 3 examples of Surveying the Network Neighborhood,
File Sharing and Using the Shared Folder.
Wireless Mode
You have two options of Wireless Mode: Infrastructure and 802.11 Ad Hoc.
1, Infrastructure Mode
In infrastructure mode, devices communicate with each
other by first going through an Access Point (AP). Wireless devices can
communicate with each other or can communicate with a wired network. When one AP
is connected to wired network
and a set of wireless stations, it is referred to as a BSS (Basic Service
Set).
2, Ad Hoc Mode
Ad Hoc mode is also called peer-to-peer mode or
independent Basic Service Set (IBSS). In Ad Hoc mode, devices communicate
directly with each other without
using an Access Point (AP).
Status LED
There is 1 Status LED on the IEEE802.11b PCI Adapter, by
which you can check the network connectivity status.
-
Off: Power off.
-
Blinking Green: The adapter is powered on.
-
Blinking Green With Steady Green: Wireless connection is
linked.
