High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP)

Why do you need the HDCP 2.2 to HDCP 1.4 converter?

     HDCP 2.2 is the new digital content protection standard for 4K UHD content. Unfortunately HDCP 2.2 is not backward compatible with the older HDCP 1.4 version.  This means your new 4K Bluray Player that has HDCP 2.2 protection will not play on your 4K TV that you bought last year which features the older HDCP 1.4 version.   To solve this compatibility problem you can simply install this HDCP converter and it will allow for your content to be displayed without having to upgrade to a newer TV with HDCP 2.2. Most 4K televisions sold in the last few years do not support HDCP 2.2, but this 2-Way HDCP converter will keep your equipment relevant without needing to be replaced. This converter will not degrade the quality of your 4K content, so you will still get to experience Ultra HD. Best yet, this HDCP 1.4/2.2 converter work both ways, either you want to convert 1.4 to 2.2 or 2.2 to 1.4, which means if you have an older HDCP 1.4 DVD player, you can also use it with a newer TV that has HDCP 2.2.
